A regional office is a geographic and program area responsible for maintaining
a liaison between the Ministry of Education and school boards, private schools
and education programs in facilities.
The Ministry of Education's Field Services Branch coordinates the activities of its
six regional offices located throughout Ontario. The major functions of the regional offices
includes:
- Supporting school boards in the implementation of education programs;
- Monitoring education programs and policies in the elementary/secondary education system;
- Clarifying ministry policies and education programs
to the elementary/secondary education community and to parents;
- Ensuring field input in the development of ministry policies;
- Reporting on the effectiveness of the school system; and
- Providing field intelligence to the Ministry Policy Office, Financial, and Operating Branches.
