Average Day School Enrolment
The average daily enrolment of pupils of the board enrolled in day school, representing a weighted average enrolment on two count dates, October 31, and March 31.
 
Chair of the Board
Name of the elected chair of the board of trustees.
 
Clerical and Secretarial

Consultant Staff

Director of Education
The name of the chief executive officer of the board. He or she is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective organization and programs in accordance with the board's policies.
 
EQAO
The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) is a Schedule IV agency of the Ministry of Education and is responsible for conducting assessments in Grades 3, 6 and 9. EQAO is in the process of developing a Grade 10 literacy assessment and an early learning assessment. EQAO is also responsible for student participation in national and international assessments and for the development of some education quality indicators.

Enrolment - Continuing Education

Enrolment - International Languages
The total number of elementary students (headcount) taking the International Languages Program during the school year. International Language classes are those other than English or French, e.g. Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, etc. Source: September Board Report.

The Full-time equivalent of full-time and part-time teachers working in schools. Included are classroom teachers, guidance counsellors, librarians, special education teachers and department heads. Percentage of Schools Connected to the Internet
Represents the number of schools reported being connected to the Internet, as a percentage of the total number of schools in the board. Source: School September Reports, as of October 31.
 
Percentage of Students Receiving Special Education Programs and/or Services
Represents the number of students receiving special education programs and/or services as a percentage of the total student enrolment. Included are:
(a) "exceptional" students whose behavioural, communicational, intellectual, physical, or multiple exceptionalities are such that he or she is considered to need placement in a special education program. A student is designated as exceptional by an Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) established by the school board.
(b) non-identified students with special needs who are deemed by the board to require special education programs and/or services, but have not been formally identified as exceptional by an IPRC.

A student may participate in a fully self-contained or a partially integrated special education class, or may receive withdrawal assistance, resource assistance or indirect service in a regular class. Areas of exceptionality may include:
Autism, Behaviour, Blind and Low Vision, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Deaf-Blind, Developmental Disability, Giftedness, Language Impairment, Learning Disability, Mild Intellectual Disability, Multiple Exceptionalities, Physical Disability, Speech Impairment

Pupils of the Board
A pupil of the board is a student enrolled in a school operated by the board. It excludes pupils for whom the board charges tuition fees.(eg. visa, out-of-province students and students whose education falls under the jurisdiction of the Government of Canada).
 
Supervisory Officers
A supervisory officer is responsible for supervising all aspects of the programs under his or her jurisdiction.
